Modifies digital images and applies various effects and filters. Features image comparison, batch operation, and 16bit processing mode.

From lighting mistakes to blurred images, and from unwanted objects to skin blemishes, not all our pictures come out as perfect as we thought they would. PT Photo Editor comes with all the tools you require to correct all those minor problems and to embellish and enhance your best photos so that they look as great as you imagined them. With a combination of one-click and slider-based professional adjustment tools, this is an image editor that is suitable for all.

Therefore, there are two main areas in which PT Photo Editor can help you improve your digital photographs – error correction and image enhancing. For those photographs that didn’t turn out to look as impressive as you thought, this program offers you tools to correct the exposure, contrast, clarity, saturation, and vibrancy values, among others. You can do that either using the Auto button or by using the sliders provided. More savvy users may want to change also the luminance levels by highlighting specific areas and by adjusting the shadow, white, and black values; by making changes in the color curve, by adjusting the values of the main color groups, or by applying simple noise reduction and color correction tools.

When it comes to unleash your creativity and add value to your already-nearly-perfect image, you may want to try the split toning, the sharpening, or the vignetting tools. From here you can move to the extensive choice of general, color, and black and white presets available – these will turn your pictures into a completely different beast with just one click. Alternatively, you can move from the presets to the sliders and vice versa until your picture matches the one you had in mind. All of these changes can be performed at a “global” level (to the whole image) or at a “regional” level, by selecting specific areas with the program’s lasso, brush, or gradient tool, among others.

Of course, PT Photo Editor also comes with all the other standard editing features that anyone would expect from a professional image editor – image cropping, resizing, rotating, and mirroring; red-eye effect removal, or watermarking, to name a few. The app’s new batch editing, renaming, and conversion tool is a world of its own. It opens in a new window and it offers dozens of adjustments and possibilities to perform all of those three tasks in the most precise and customized way possible. Regrettably, they cannot be combined in one huge batch transformation process. The few – and clearly insufficient – features that we could use to manage our photo collection are also included here, and they are related mainly to the output folder and to what to do when a filename already exists.

Overall, PT Photo Editor is both comprehensive and flexible. It offers both one-click presets and professional features for manual editing, and it supports all the most widely used image file formats, both for the input and the output. All of this for a more-than-affordable tag price, which makes this image editor at least worth trying.
